Junior Scientist, BCT
Position Summary:
We are seeking an individual to expand our team at the BCT lab. In this role you will be responsible for conducting independent analytical testing to verify the integrity of protein-based molecules that are essential to our preclinical pipeline. You will also help maintain smooth lab operations and have opportunities to contribute to innovative method development projects of novel cancer therapeutics.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
- Perform analytical characterization of protein molecules independently using the following techniques: reversed and normal phase HPLC, SDS-PAGE, and UV-VIS spectroscopy
- Collaborate with scientists to design and conduct non-routine experiments and studies supporting method development or preclinical development of various cancer therapeutics
- Design studies, accurately document executed experiments in electronic lab notebooks, and write clear protocols and SOPs in English
- Communicate your results effectively during team meetings to support informed decision-making
- Assume responsibility for daily lab operations, including inventory management, buffer preparation, and instruments maintenance
Competences, Skills and Qualification:
- Master’s degree in biochemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceutical science, or related discipline
- Hands-on experience with the following protein characterization techniques: SDS-PAGE, CE, HPLC, and UV-Vis spectrophotometry
- Strong English communication skills (minimum B2 level) for both written and oral tasks
- Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent organizational skills, methodical approach to work. Ability to see projects through to completion. Demonstrated documentation skills
- Collaborative mindset
- Willingness to take on responsibilities, learn new methods
- Prior pharmaceutical industry exposure or experience working with antibodies is a plus but not essential
